Neverwhere

I had no idea the excellent Neverwhere mini-series was finally on DVD, though sadly it’s an import job despite being a BBC series. It was a Neil Gaimen penned BBC drama about "London Below", a hidden pseudo-mythical subculture that hides beneath our reality.

What’s more, it turns out Neil Gaiman is the writer behind Mirror Mask. The trailer looks almost too weird, though that never stopped some of Terry Gilliam’s flicks from being excellent. Must get round to reading more of his work given that I loved both Neverwhere and Good Omens. (via Clickable Culture)

OMG, you deprived person. You must start reading The Sandman, immediately. American Gods is great, and the sequel, Anansi Boys should be out late this year or early next. According to his blog, it’s very close to being done.

I know, I know, I’m being such a slacker on this, many friends have recommended it. :) I think my sister has Sandman somewhere, I’ll nag her to let me borrow it.

You’ve read Good Omens too though, right?

  3. Brinstar Says:

Yes, Good Omens was great. I do need to re-read it, however, because when I read it the first time, I don’t think I quite got all the intricacies of British humour. Now that I am older, wiser, and more well-traveled, I think another run through is in order. I do have it somewhere on my shelf.

I like the book version of Neverwhere more than the series, though I think Gaiman adapted the book from the script.
