Sam and Max Return (Again)
Telltale Games will apparently work with Steve Purcell (as much as possible when he’s not busy at Pixar) on a new Sam and Max game in episodic format. Rejoice!

This is guaranteed to be posted to, oh, 90% of blogs out there. Google Blog Search. Aside from working really well, should your blogger ego need stroking it’s also great for checking who re-blogged your stuff. Sadly it’s indexing my old TypePad account so I might mail Google about that, they’re actually pretty good at responding to suggestions.

But it doesn’t glow! Oh who cares.
Stunning images. Real time or rendered? I’ll let the final code settle that one, or at least a proper show of it running on real hardware at TGS. Interesting how Kojima decided to show us a much older Solid Snake, I like the look.
Here’s a great look at the recent Violent Game Bill passed in California. It’s really unbelievable how much unproven rubbish they’re stating as fact. For instance:
(b) Even minors who do not commit acts of violence suffer psychological harm from prolonged exposure to violent video games.
Um, really? Was it proper scientific research or parent groups that told them that? I wonder.
The screenshot speaks for itself really. Looks like a fairly nice way of organising games rather than burried deep in the start menu or as icons you had to move onto your desktop by hand. (via NeoWin)
This time from 1UP and Jane. The interview with Gabe and Tycho (or rather their hands) is inevitably funny. The game music concert footage is fantastic stuff too - the Halo theme on piano is particularly impressive.
Not overly exciting (we’ve seen cutaway packaging for years now), but they’re also bunding three face places with each Micro which is cool. Nintendo are doing a really good job targeting this at the mobile phone and iPod kids, it’s just a shame the cartridge is still fairly huge and the games are drying up. Seems like it’s going to do well in Japan at least.
Planet Moon are certainly capable of greatness but I’m still not sold on their upcoming PSP title Infected. Watch and read what producer Aaron Loeb has to say about it and draw your own conclusion. The infection mechanism sounds cool but it surely relies on you meeting lots of different people who own the game which sounds a tall order. (via 4cr)

He’s a god damn one man killing machine. I don’t think he’s using a mouse adapter either which makes this even more impressive. (via ShackNews)
By their own admission too. The good news is they’ve decided to do something about it by putting a sack of cash behind “Games for Windows” and trying to standardise the joypad by pushing the 360 one. Seems publishers are behind the logo scheme too - we’ll see if this makes a difference.

Tell Microsoft which games you want to be backwards compatible! Some of the leaders right now are surprising - Panzer Dragoon Orta (lovely game, gets insanely hard though), Jet Set Radio Future and Shenue II (I desperately hope renewed rumours of sequel progress are true). Seems like 1UP visitors have much love for Sega, and rightly so. For a year or so their games were dissapointing but they definitely seem right back on track now.
