Daggerfall Remake
Given the continuing hype for Oblivion it’s easy to forget its roots. Daggerfall was absolutely immense (if buggy), much bigger than Oblivion, though it needs a DOS emulator to run and is visually dated. Interkarma is looking to fix that. The lengths to which some fans go to resurrect their favourites classics never ceases to amaze me, such dedication.

Daggerfall is huge but because of the random generated environment and the limited amount of memory in the computers at the time the game would freeze constantly and sometimes overload the computer, forcing some customers to have to reinstall Daggerfall, or sometimes even the whole Windows program. Oblivion looks as an awesome game, but I haven’t played it. The Elder Scrolls is an EPIC. Jagar Tharn unleashed hell (or Oblivion) itself when he stole the staff of chaos. He disrupted the Empire’s political system, he made it possible for the Gates of Oblivion to open, he brought an end the the Third Era. I have a feeling that in a later Elder Scrolls game he might be brought back. I still haven’t discovered his motives behind the act, but I have been studying the Biography of Barenziah and the Real Barenziah, and what they quote the Nightengale saying. I’m trying to trace back his heritage to find out what exactly he intended to do with the Empire at his fingertips.
