Kulcha

Watched Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy the other day. Good stuff overall - doesn’t quite hit all the notes it wants to, but I’d say it’s as true to the books as you could hope and funny enough too. Also saw Faithless recently - decent gig but nowhere near as good as the last one I went too sadly. Too many slow songs, and they sadly no longer have Zoe Johnston (she did Crazy English Summer and Evergreen) doing backing vocals. Next up is Kingdom of Heaven with which I have full confidence that Ridley Scott will continue his run of superb films. Oh, plus it’s got trebuchet sieges and Ed Norton as a Lepper King. I tell you, it can’t fail!

So ends this LiveJournal-esque diary post. These’ll be kept to a minimum, promise.

Land of the Dead

I had no idea George A. Romero was even making this, but lo and behold there’s this trailer. Looks great! And by great I mean bad. But in a good way. Great!

The Darth Side

As ever, The Shack is a goldmine of the comedy variety having just lead me to Darth Vader’s blog. Fabulous:

Bloody interrogation.  Imperial audience.  More leg woes.

Did you ever have one of those days?

It can be challenging to maintain your dignity as a dark tyrannical
overlord when the circuitry in your left leg constantly misfires,
threatening to send you off on a mad pirouette without notice. It
requires a serious effort of will to maintain my poise, the tendrils of
my connection to the Force reaching deep into space to feel out my
distant quarry and at the same time wrapped around the mechanisms of my
own body to keep them working.

Night Watch

No, not the Pratchett book, the first part of a Russian horror film trilogy that actually looks pretty cool from the trailer. Nice to see a Russian film get exposure like this, it’s not like they’ve exactly got a huge Hollywood equivalent or anything even close. There’s also an earlier, less professional trailer that shows a bit more of the movie and gives you a better grounding in the premise.
